Abramovich Pinchas, born in Latvia in 1909, immigrated to Israel in 1929, died in 1986. Prior to his immigration, Abramovich studied art in Kovna. His work of the 1930s display quintessentialy expressionist elements - somber colors and tortous forms - in the spirit of the Jewish school of Paris. During and following World War II Abramovic stayed in Iran, and his experience of that country is reflected in the hinted Persian elements he incorporated into his art. In the 1940s he painted geometrically structured cityscapes tending to the abstract.
On 1948 He joined a group of artists banding together under the name "New Horizons" and embracing abstraction, first in pronciple and soon also in practice.
