Mifal HaPayis

Mifal HaPayis is the legal gambling monopoly in Israel.

Mifal HaPayis was established in August 1951 as a local gambling organization in the city of Tel Aviv by its mayor back then , Israel Rokach, for the purpose of funding the establishing of a big hospital in Tel Aviv.

At first the project's profits were used only for medical purposes but later on when Mifal HaPayis became a national gambling organization its support was extended also to projects in the education field. Nowadays Mifal HaPayis supports the istableshments of children clinics, hospitals, sport halls, studying rooms and schools, youth centers, culture halls, art and music and public gardens.

In the year 2007 the total profit of Mifal HaPayis was 3.848 billion New Shekels, 2.4 billion were granted as prizes and 1.1 billion was used for various public projects.

Mifal HaPayis runs a variety of gambling games:

    * The Lottery - a weekly game where the participant is asked to guess 6 numbers out of 34 and an additional one number out of 10, the chances of winning by filling one column is 1 to 13,449,040. with an additional payment there are special columns that allow u to increase the chances of winning by filling out more than 6 numbers. In 2008 Mifal Hapayis made a new form called "Double Lottery" where the price of every columns is doubled and the prize for the winner is doubled.

    * Chance - a daily game that takes place 6 times a day (except 3 times a day in Fridays and 2 time in Saturday). The game is based on the four cards A, K, Q and J of the game cards and the numbers 7, 8, 9 and 10. Mifal HaPayis draws a sequence of four of those cards and the participant is asked to guess that sequence or one with a 1, 2 or 3 cards out of it.


    * Payis 777 - this game is bi-daily where the participant is asked to guess 7 numbers out of 70 while 17 numbers out of them are drawn. In this game the prize is not split between the winners, each winner gets the full prize.

    * 123 - a daily game where the participant is asked to guess a sequence of 3 numbers (0 to 9), the chances of winning this game is 1 to 1000.

    * Hish Gad - a card scratching game. in each card theres a different kind of game but the winning cards are predetermined, the participant scratches the card and finds out if he won or lost.

    * The Big Lottery - In addition to the regular games Mifal HaPayis also runs, ever since its 50 years anniversary, a yearly game called "The Big Lottery" which is a regular lottery game where the grand prize is 50 million New Shekels.
