Biographical information 
 
Born on the 1-st of April 1948 in Moscow, graduated from the private art school - studio of Vasily Sitnikov. Since 1975 he is the member of National Federation of Artists UNESCO. Since 1968 he has participated in numerous group and personal exhibitions of unofficial Russian art in Moscow, Washington, New York, Helsinki.

... In his painting technique Vladimir Petrov - Gladky follows traditions of old masters. At the same time his painting unites the ornamental preciosity and the psychological poignancy, the formal brightness and deep meditative immersion, the delight with beauty and world harmony and the irrational fear of it; it entwines the works of painter in context of Austrian school "fantastic realism", which representatives were: klimt, Shile, Hundertwasser, Fuks, Brauer. That is why the picture, acquired by the museum "XX - th Century" in Vienna, is placed in the section "fantastic realism".
The art universe of Petrov - Gladky is the world of daydream, emotional flights and spiritual afterlights going back to Russian religious traditions.
