This 1993 Vintage Poster commemorates Israel’s 45th Independence Day and 25th anniversary to the unification of Jerusalem. The poster was designed by Asaf Berg.
At the 25th anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem, the city had been already awarded with unprecedented development. Many neighborhoods were built in the North, East and West sides of the city. Jerusalem became the most populated city in Israel (700,000 inhabitants at the time). Most of the National Institutions were relocated to Jerusalem, the social and cultural life developed and National and International major events were held in the city.
A fiddler is situated in the center of the Poster while the background is split in half. In the lower part of the poster one can recognize a few buildings that have become the symbols of Jerusalem such as the Knesset, King David’s Tower, the Israel Museum and a few Skyscrapers with a white glow which surrounds them. On the lower left side of the poster a quotation from Isaiah 66:10.
